They jogged around the edge of the pitch and carefully and slowly crept up between the two cars directly opposite the white van.

“Yes, I know! It’s not easy they all love him, although I’ve no idea why. Okay.”

They couldn’t hear the man’s voice at all, but luckily for them, Mrs O’Sullivan had a loud, booming voice which proved very useful in her class at school. The Year 2 class was well known for being the noisiest and most disruptive group of children in the building.

“I do know something useful. He is dating the mum of one of the children in Year 5. Peter Samuels he’s called. Yep, okay. I’ll keep you updated. I do miss Oakside, you know. It’s just not the same at Cameron Street.”

At the sound of his name, Peter had suddenly felt a strange sickly feeling in the pit of his stomach.
